Oia Suites, Santorini

Almost a week of vacation in Santorini is a good reason to at least stay in two different places considering Santorini isn’t that big island. You can either go from luxury hotel to budget hostels or villas. Or if you love beach, stay on the shores of Kamari beach then move to cliff cave houses in Fira, Imerovigli or Oia. As i was searching for places to stay in Santorini, there were opinions citing that staying within the vicinity of Oia is not recommended (especially during the peak season late of June- early October) as the stairs down to the cave rooms are terribly steep, flock of crowd, quite far from the center (Fira) and the airport and most of the places you’ll get if not ‘worth the money’ are gorgeous but highly priced. However, many also asserted that they had their best, luxurious yet affordable experience when in Oia. After staying at Chromata in Imerovigli, we spend our last few days in Oia and it was one of the best decisions we had. We were lucky to score a superior suite room at Oia Suites with hot tub and Caldera view for a reasonable price. And what made it superb is that booking.com gave me exclusive discount!

Oia Suites, though it is mentioned as a luxury suite the price is way notably modest and reasonable compared to other luxury hotels considering the extra advantages they offer. This is a perfect place to stay in Oia since it opposes the fact that Oia is too touristy. It is situated just a 10 minute walk from the center of Oia, facing the famous Santorini cliffs and volcanic islets and completely away from clamorous places. Oia Suites is just along the road to Oia center so it is not hard to find. The wide free parking space is so helpful and yes they don’t make their guest suffer the steep stairs going down to the rooms. There are rooms that near to each other but if you are lucky to reserve a superior suite, you will have your own private gate. The room is immensely spacious. Superior and Executive suites have a private hot tub/ jacuzzi, terrace, living room and wide shower room. The toiletries are local products made of olives. There are plenty of choices for breakfast which is also personalized and room serviced only. Breakfast orders should be made a day before and you need to inform Mariana of your lists.

Mariana, the receptionist is one of the best person you’ll ever meet when in Santorini. She is so energetic and even though she is the only person at the front desk she is able to cater all the needs of their guests. She always made sure we didn’t have any problems with the room, our schedules and food. She can also make restaurant reservation and only recommends best places to eat or visit in Oia. She even made it possible to connect us to a photographer who is Santorini-based. Because on the last minute we decided we needed someone who can take good photos for us featuring the best of Santorini.
